I did my Veeam 12 (VMCE) exam in September 2025 and passed it.
Now when I would like to do VMCE+, I understood that I do not have to do the VBR Training, only Veeam One and Orchestrator.
But do I have to do the complete Exam, including VBR?
Best regrards,
Michael

Hi @Michael Funke I hope you keeping well. I use @Federica post to help with my understanding here.
In there she said(you can skip right to the last paragraph) but as far as I understand you are required to do all training except the VBR and then the Exam
To earn VMCE+, you complete three trainings:
Veeam Backup & Replication: Configure, Manage, and Recover (VBR)
Veeam Data Platform: Monitor, Manage, Analyze (Veeam ONE)
Veeam Data Platform: Scale, Automate, Secure (Veeam Orchestrator)
The courses are available through the Veeam University PRO eLearning subscription, with instructor-led options available only for the Backup & Replication course. There may be an option to have the Veeam ONE and Veeam Orchestrator training instructor-led as well, but there is still no fixed date on the go-to-market.
After each training you complete, you earn a badge.
Complete all three and pass the exam, and you earn the VMCE+ certification badge:
For existing VMCE holders, there is no automatic upgrade, you will need to complete the three new v13-aligned trainings to become eligible for VMCE+. The good news: if you are VBR v12 or v13 trained, or VMCE v12 certified, you can skip the VBR training this time.

Hi @Michael Funke VMCE and VMCE+ are two different exams. So yes, you have to take the VMCE+ if you want to reach that certification.
Requirements for certification are bein trained in:
Veeam Backup & Replication: Configure, Manage, and Recover (VBR)
Veeam Data Platform: Monitor, Manage, Analyze (Veeam ONE)
Veeam Data Platform: Scale, Automate, Secure (Veeam Orchestrator)
Because you are VMCE v12 certified you can skip the VBR requirement and go straight to Veeam Veeam Data Platform: Monitor, Manage, Analyze (Veeam ONE).
@Michael Funke - you are correct. Because you have a current VMCE on v12, you do not need to take the VBR v13 Course; only the VONE & VRO Courses.
But, the VMCE+ exam covers ALL THREE topics. There is only one VMCE+ exam. Ther are no separate exams with only certain products in it. So yes, when you register to take the VMCE+ exam, it will cover all 3 products.

No Michael. There are some VMCE practice questions spread throughout here on the VMCE+ Study Hall page from last yr you can look over. But that’s about all there is that I’m aware of.
I did the VMCE v12 certification 18 months ago. In the past few weeks I completed the latest VONE & VRO on-demand training in prep for the VMCE+ exam. I noticed the VBR on-demand training course (in the same place where I just completed the VONE & VRO on-demand training) is all VBR v12 subject matter, some of it which is quite old material, and at the end of it there’s a “What’s new in VBR v13” section. It was mentioned above that there is a VBR v13 training course, is that right?
I think I still have access to a set of VMCE v12 practice questions from 18+ months ago. Are those practice questions/quizzes any good to use as study preparation for the VBR topics in the VMCE+ exam?
Yeah the v13 stuff is at the end of the v12 materials and hopefully they make it all v13. The older quiz stuff is of some benefit but there is a lot of new stuff in the new exam.
Thanks Chris. So reading between the lines - am I right in saying that most of the VBR related questions in the VMCE+ exam are based on v12 of the VBR product, as there still isn’t a full VBR v13 training course?
Ok. So there’s little point in studying/going through the currently available VBR training - except for the “what’s new in VBR v13” content - because it’s all v12 product based and the VBR questions in the VMCE+ exam are v13 based. Am I right?
Thanks. And as mentioned above in this thread, there are currently no VBR v13 practice questions/quizzes, nor is there any overall VMCE+ practice questions/quizzes available, correct? The ones “spread throughout the study hall from a year ago” are most likely not of much help in prep for VMCE+ exam by the sounds of it?
