~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Microsoft SQL Server on which the configuration database resides is corrupted.  A backup administrator wants to deploy the configuration database on a new Microsoft SQL Server and recover data from the configuration backup.  Which configuration restore mode should be used?
  1. Veeam Explorer for Microsoft SQL
  2. Migrate
  3. Instant SQL Recovery
  4. Restore
  1. Restore
Since the requirement is to restore to a different server, i think the right answer is b. Migrate
D
A - you need to pluck out what you need to restore to a different SQL server.
The SQL Server is corrupted but it doesn´t mean the installation of the backup server (the application itself) is there too. Since the application could be fine, the backup server could be maintained, I say:
  1. Restore
i would go with b.
Configuration Backup > Restore > then select Migrate
Put us out of our misery ;)
The answer to the Veeam Tech Trainer (VTT) question is below…
Let’s start by removing options we (should) know aren’t accurate when restoring the Veeam Configuration DB. Those are a. and c. If you chose either of those...oops..sorry 😊 That leaves us with 2 options we (should be) are familiar with in regards to Config DB restores → Restore and Migrate. So, you have a 50/50 shot here. When performing a DB restore operation, you are presented with the remaing 2 options and an explanation when to use each. You use the Migrate option when going with a whole new VBR server and Restore for pretty much any other time, including instances such as what is presented here in this question. As such, d. Restore is the correct answer. For more info see URL below:
