Ok Community...here’s your 2nd VMCE practice question for the week. Reminder, it is good practice to try to attempt the questions (at least initially) without looking up the answers in the User Guide. 😉
Please hide your comments & good luck!

Which pre-freeze/post-thaw scripting extension is not a valid file format?

  1. .ps1
  2. .sh
  3. .py

EXE, BAT, CMD, WSF, JS, VBS and PS1 file format.

For Linux VMs, Veeam Backup & Replication supports scripts in the SH file format.

think, i’ve seen .sh at a customer - but not 100% sure

so i would go with c: .py

on Windows .exe, .ps1, .bat, .cmd is a valid format for the scripts

Hi @calabro -

If you could, please hide your comment/guess. Let me know if you have trouble in doing so.

Thank you.

The final answer for this week is…

All options listed are script file extensions, but not all can be used. .SH can be used for Linux and all the rest can be used for Windows. But the only script option Veeam doesn’t support as listed in the User Guide is Python. So c. .py is the correct answer.
