Here is the VTT question for the week. Good luck!

A veeam administrator is concerned about keeping backups onsite and has traditionally used tapes to create weekly offsite backups to free up storage. Recently, concerns have risen about being able to begin recoveries without waiting for tapes to return from offsite. The company is currently using Scale-out Backup Repositories. What option would satisfy the requirement and maintain the weekly offsite copy?

  1. File copy job
  2. Backup to object storage
  3. Copy to Capacity Tier
  4. Move to Capacity Tier

The key difference between C and D is that the customer is concerned about freeing up on-prem storage. Therefore D is a better answer than C.

And this answer to this week’s VTT question is below:

So, let’s break this question down just a bit. There are 3 key pieces of information in the question → “freeing up storage” , “faster recoeries” , and the customer is using “SOBRs”. Using those pieces of info, as well as the requirement of wanting to keep backups offsite, makes the only possible solutions as b., c., and d. But, there’s too much what I call “vagueness” with b. as an answer because object storage could be used for Perf or Capacity Tiers, as well as just be on-prem. As 1 requirement is to have an offsite copy, that answer is least likely correct, leaving only either Copy or Move to Capacity. So, in looking at the key pieces of info in the question, 1 which stands out most in deciding between c. and d. is “freeing up storage”. As such, the best answer for this question is indeed d. Move to Capacity Tier.
