Here’s this week’s first VMCE Practice Question. Please remember to hide your comments.

Your developers just made significant changes to a critical corporate application and it’s important they get backed up during their designated backup window overnight. Storms are forecasted to take place in the area and you're concerned network communications may get disrupted when backups run. How does Veeam handle network disruptions when they occur during a backup job run?

  1. The job will error and a Failed Status is reported
  2. Veeam will reattempt the network connection at 15 second intervals for 30 minutes
  3. The workloads already processed will show a status of Success while the remaining workloads will be skipped
  4. Veeam doesn't have the capability to handle network disruptions

b - Veeam will reattempt the network connection at 15 second intervals for 30 minutes

  1. Veeam will reattempt the network connection at 15 second intervals for 30 minutes

b- Veeam will reattempt the network connection at 15 second intervals for 30 minutes

I would be surprised if it is not answer B 🙂

Ok, let’s get to last week’s question answers (sorry for the late response...been a crazy couple weeks!).

For options a. and d., those are simply just inaccurate meant to distract. You would need to know Veeam does indeed handle network disruptions, but also how they handle them. So a. and d. are not correct. C. is kinda correct in that those VMs already processed will show as Success, but the remaining VMs will not show as Skipped. They’ll just be waiting for Veeam to be able to reconnect. As such, b. Veeam will reattempt the network connection at 15 second intervals for 30 minutes , is the correct answer.
