This is because you can’t use a Windows proxy server as a GIP for a Linux VM.

B. is not a best practice, C. i think is not even possible and D. will not be able to communicate to the VM.

Because of the 1st item (Linux VM) a regular Windows Veeam managed server (Proxy or otherwise) cannot be used, so “A” is not correct. That leaves 1 of 2 options… “D”, which is normally correct in this circumstance (Linux VM used), or “B”. The ESXi Host has no bearing on this, so “C” is not a valid option for the question.
