hey all,

doing my VMCE tomorrow and have been doing some last minute study tonight, one thing I noticed is some reference to 2 different versions of the exam, is there any difference between v12 and v12.1 exam? i’m not sure if it’s the same exam or if there is any variation, or if this is just some naming convention online material like udemy refer to.

my booking says v12 - i just want to clarify if there is a difference or not? if it’s been updated to include v12.1 is that just automatic based on when you take the exam, or could it be related to when you book the exam as I originally booked it a while back, thank you for any clarification

v12 is the *only* exam; now..in saying that...there have obviously been updates to v12 since the v12 exam came out a couple yrs ago. But generally...there’s just a v12 exam. There are multiple “versions” with regard to exam integrity. There are hundreds of questions devised, then a certain v12 exam version has one builk of 60 questions, another version has another bulk of 60, etc. How many versions there are with that regards I’m not sure. But be rest assured...what you’re taking tomorrow will be the same one (depending on ‘version’) most of us have already taken. Hope that helps.

There would be very minimal difference to be honest.  There might be some new things based off the 12.1 that is not in 12.0 but other than that the bulk of it is similar.

thanks for the quick reply, appreciate it. I thought that might be the case, 12.1 added a lot so a few more questions will be in the pool now but otherwise there’s just one ‘vmce v12’ to worry about.

cheers!

Just wanted to come back and update that I passed on Friday morning.

The resources in this group were helpful, and just using the product in the real world will answer most of the questions in the exam. I had read a lot of stuff online about how hard this exam was but it wasn’t actually that bad.

I did the 3-day course almost 2 years ago and just never scheduled in the exam, I had something booked in and just kept pushing it back as I never had any time to study or prep for it. I forgot to reschedule it this time, so I had to just go and do it. I did my study session the night before, reviewing some of the questions here, doing the VMCE practice exam in the partner portal (harder than the real thing) and then went into the exam first thing Friday and passed pretty comfortable. The study the night before was the only real exam prep that I did, and I think it was enough.

I thought I was unprepared and would need to spend weeks studying and so I just kept putting it off. I would encourage anyone putting it off like I was to just do it, it’s not that bad!

I think I read or heard that there is a time limit on the v12 exam, like November or something. Is that the case or did I misunderstand that ?

For VMCE? No. VMCA? Yes. But I don’t recall the timeframe. I actually wanna say Oct. It may be in the webinar we did on VMCE changes @Airless here in the VMCE Study Hall page.
