Hi.

If someone had completed the training of Veeam Backup & Replication v12.3: Configure, Manage, and Recover (VMCE), Can they just attempt the exam for the same or they can also attempt the exam for VMCE 13 as well or they have to attend the VMCE 13 training to attend the v13 exam. TIA

Hi @Asad Awan -

Since you’ve taken the v12 training, you can take the v12 exam...which is the current exam. The v13 exam is not yet available. If you take and pass the v12 exam, you do not have to take a v13 course. You can just take the v13 exam when it becomes available. As long as you continue taking and passing the most current exam, there is no need to take a course for future versions. Let me know if you have further questions.

Best.

Hi Shane,

Thank you for your response. Since the VMCE exam is retiring on December 31st, 2025, should I have to attempt the v12 exam before that or should wait for v13 to come out and attempt that. TIA

For answers to most common cert questions, you can review the FAQs on Veeam’s site:

https://www.veeam.com/support/training/vmce-training-faq.html

and general VMCE info:

Hi @Asad Awan -

You have to have a current certification to not have to take a future course. So I recommend taking the v12 exam. Besides...there are so many changes to v13, you would need to lab and poke around in v13 awhile before I would recommend taking that exam anyway.

Like Shane I would suggest taking v12 now then it saves you on taking another course for v13 where you can just write the exam after getting hands on and study.

Also @Asad Awan -

I did a webinar with the Veeam Certification Business Manager and one of the on-demand trainers a couple months ago. There’s some good cert info for the upcoming changes to Veeam certifications worth catching. You can view the video below:

Hi @coolsport00 how are you?

Question. And if a partner didn´t take the course V12.3 and wants the certification. Can he take the current Veeam Backup & Replication v13: Configure, Manage, and Recover and take the exam for the VMCE before march 31?

looking forward for your answer.

@Franco Fernandez -

The VMCE is for the v12 exam only. Again...it is retired. I mean...you can still take it as it’s been extended till 31 Mar, but is really a “retired” exam at this point. You don’t need a course if you’ve already taken a course at some point in the past and have kept up with your VMCE exams. v12 has been around 3yrs now...so there’s not really been a “new” VMCE course in a while...till now with v13.

Best.

But if someone has not taken the Veeam course, and of course, to schedule the course, they need to take it.

Can that person take version 13 of the course that is currently being taught? (I am not referring to the exam, but to version 13 of the course, to take the current VMCE exam that is available).
