Onboarding for Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 - Step 4 Monitoring

As your backups start to complete successfully, you may wish to start monitoring the health and status of the environment and consider automating some common tasks.

Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 allows you to create the following data protection reports:

 

Notification settings

You can configure notification settings if you want Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 to send email notifications about backup and backup copy job results.

 

Advanced monitoring with Veeam ONE™

Monitoring Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 infrastructure and data protection operations with Veeam ONE v12 requires that you upgrade to Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 v7.

For Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 with Subscription license, Veeam ONE monitoring is available if the M365Suite license package is installed. Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 license package will be updated automatically from M365 to M365Suite during the next 7 days after the product upgrade if you have previously selected the Update license automatically (enables usage reporting) check box. You can also configure Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 to notify you when new application versions appear and allow Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 to download available updates from Veeam servers automatically. Veeam ONE Client offers advanced functionality for monitoring Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 infrastructure and data protection operations in the managed virtual environment.

With Veeam ONE Client, you can:

  • Monitor the overall state of the backup infrastructure.
  • View triggered alarms.
  • Check the latest job status.
  • Work with performance charts.
  • View the list of events.

Choose an appropriate data collection mode to determine what metrics Veeam ONE will collect in order to optimize monitoring and reporting performance.
