SOBR Direct to Object Storage Archiving How-To?

Hello,

I’m new here, so forgive me if I’m doing this wrong.

I’m having trouble configuring a SOBR to a client. The client wants to send an Agent File level backup job directly to S3 Standard on AWS and keep only the recent 7 days worth of data and then proceed to archive a weekly full backup. How would I go about and do this? There is no capacity tier as it would make no sense…

By the looks of it I can only send to archive tier if I also have a capacity tier. I cant send directly from performance to archive, even if the performance tier is an object storage.

That is entirely possible.   Maybe a ticket with support might help clarify things.  I don't deal too much with archive tier currently so sorry cannot be of much help.

Are you asking to validate the settings in your screenshots or how to configure it?

This page should help with all the configuration settings - https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backup/vsphere/backup_repository_sobr.html?ver=120

I know the jist of how to configure it, however the validation of the config on the prints would be helpful as I dont know how to make it so it actually archives the data...

If that is the case then the configuration you have would meet your requirements from your OP.

Ah gotcha.  Check out this article here on the community which also might help - https://community.veeam.com/blogs-and-podcasts-57/sobr-veeam-archive-tier-calculations-and-considerations-in-v11-2753
