Please can you clarify if it is possible will Veeam to do a backup copy job directly to say an AWS bucket, or Azure Blob? We want to move away from using tape, but do not want to implement Veeam Connct and all its associated complexity.

Hi, you can do this now via “copy mode” in a scale-out backup repository, or in v12 it will be a native feature that you can even send primary backups to object

As noted you need to use the SOBR method to offload to capacity tier using the Move option. There is no direct to OBS yet until v12 which will allow you to create a Backup Copy job direct to object if you wanted to.
