O365 OneNotes backup files: where are they?

Hi I little confused about were should I should find workers Onenotes files from Veeam O365 backup ????
Newer looked are OneNotes files included O365 backup procedure.

O365 business used and  document folders sync to personal OneDrive
\documents\OneNote Notebooks\ -> there are only hypertext links to O365 website OneNote App.
Workers always uses O365 local OneNote app

These links shown also in Veeam O365 backups but not the *.one files at all ☹
Workers all data (Mail, Archive, OneDrive, Site) included and nothing excluded .

In Veeam manual:
https://www.veeam.com/blog/restore-ms-teams-onenote-items.html

Microsoft OneNote
Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365 can back up two types of Notes

Personal Notes
Such notes can be saved either on a local disk or to OneDrive for Business. In case of the latter, such files would be backed up as a part of OneDrive for Business user account and can be restored both to original and new locations. During restore process, OneNote would detect that you’ve created new file and add it to a list of user’s notes.

Please help to find out OneNotes files.
No need to restore them to original location. Just were are they!!!

Just note for other may having same problem:
At my case: only updating to latest version did not solve the problem.
Need also to “re-establish” company connection to MS O365.

Maybe something rights missing backing up O365 data from MS

Or coult it be reason: we having separate jobs for: Mail, OD and SharePoint.

I would check the OneDrive backups to see if they are there.  It will not be in the mail backup jobs.

iirc personal notes are a onedrive file, you should be able find them in the onedrive explorer

Yes this is what i also expecting… But cannot find anything but hypertext http links to Onenotes documents. Not the actual data.

I just created and run a full backup testjob with all procressing options selected to my personal O365 account.

I have several Onenotes documents.
When opening OneNote Windown App I can see about document properties file path as:

#https://<my-compay>-my.sharepoint.com/personal/<my-name>_<my-company>_fi1/_layouts/OneNote.aspx?id=%2Fpersonal%2F<my-name>_<my-company>_fi1_fi1%2FDocuments%2FDocuments%2FOneNote%20Notebooks%2F<my name>%20%40%20<my-company>

And in “c:\users\<my-name>\documents\OneNote Notebooks” folder: There is only https links to same documents to O365 webpage.

When opening this new backup with Veeam OneDrive explorer I can find only these link files. not actual data

I have several Onenotes. Opening Onenote Win App I can see indivdual Onenote path as:

#https://<my-compay>-my.sharepoint.com/personal/<my-name>_<my-company>_fi1/_layouts/OneNote.aspx?id=%2Fpersonal%2F<my-name>_<my-company>_fi1_fi1%2FDocuments%2FDocuments%2FOneNote%20Notebooks%2F<my name>%20%40%20<my-company>

And in my documents\OneNote Notebooks  There is only https links to same documents to O365 webpage.

And in Veeam O365 backup I can only find these links. not actual data

I would suggest at this point to contact Support to get this sorted out as the OneNotes should be there.

Now updated VeeamO365 to latest 7.1.0.2031 version and took a new backup.
Now <user>\documents\OneNote Documents\ folder files are OneNodes data files not hyperlink only.

Scrolling down to earliser backups looks these files have changed to html only beginning of this year.
So: something happened with MS O365 and Veeam 0365 communication!

And this latest Veeam O365 version fixed it.
OK, so having about ½ year blackout about OneNotes files :(.
But at least backing up OneNotes files now it works again.
