I’m back from Aruba! (sadly 😂) 😎🌴🍹 It was a great time...but now back to the grind, and this week’s VTT question. Good luck!

For those new to the VMCE page, please hide your comment (guess). To do so → before typing your response, click the ellipsis icon on the far right of the format toolbar at the top in your comment box and select the Spoiler option. This will place a ‘hide comment’ text box in your comment box area. Click inside this hide comment text box and start typing your answer (guess). Be careful to not click outside of the box or your comment will show after saving. We want your comment to not show so others can take full advantage of these practice questions. Let me know if you have issues. Good luck!

A database administrator is working on a PowerShell script.  Due to an error, the script drops 10 tables out of 100 from the Microsoft SQL database.  Veeam Explorer for Microsoft SQL will be used for the restore.  Choose the option that will restore functionality with the minimum impact on the user experience and RPO.

  1. Use the “Restore database schema and data” option to perform a restore of the deleted Microsoft SQL items
  2. Use the “Quick Rollback” option to perform a restore of the changed blocks of the Microsoft SQL database file
  3. Use the “Point in time” option to specify the point in time you want to restore the Microsoft SQL database time
  4. Use the “Compare with Production” option to restore only the missing objects back to the Microsoft SQL database

c - Use the “Point in time” option to specify the point in time you want to restore the Microsoft SQL database time

could be wrong here, but sounds good :-)

Apparently I don’t know how to use the spoiler function. Let’s try that again:

A, because C would potentially remove legitimate data in unaffected tables, while A would only restore the deleted tables.

Ok all...here’s the answer to this week’s VTT question. Did you get it correct?…

This was a good question imo, solely (for me) because I don’t use any Explorers at all. That said, let’s go ahead and remove two choices straight away. As Ian stated, a. and c. are not possible as they are not options for restore in the SQL Explorer Window/Console. Because not all data is “bad” from the automation change, c. would be overkill; and this leaves the remaining option a. Use the “Restore database schema and data” option to perform a restore of the deleted Microsoft SQL items as the correct answer. You can use this option, then the Fine Tune Restore Point feature to pick Tables to restore.

See below URLs for further explanation (pay attention to Explorer Console screenshot and ‘features’ in it, as well):
