Veeam for Salesforce CE config PKIX error


Hi All,

 

Doing the initial install of backup for Salesforce CE. Got to the point of connecting Veeam to SF Connected App with key/secret then:

 

HTB8: Salesforce responded with an error: I/O error on GET request for "https://login.salesforce.com/services/oauth2/authorize": PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target; nested exception is javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target

 

The callback URL is showing a certificate error, so I’m not sure whether:

  1. I should focus on fixing the URL certificate.
  2. I need to whitelist something on the Salesforce side.
  3. Both (or something else entirely!)

 

Any suggestions on how to resolve this?

Hi ​@matt111! When creating the App in Salesforce, did you follow this KB article?https://www.veeam.com/kb4240


Especially the setting, marked on the screenshot below can cause the error you’re seeing.

I would probably suggest a support ticket in this case.  Never used backup for SF and it might be quicker.  You can also check the forums too - https://forums.veeam.com

I did follow the KB, but when I reviewed settings that box was checked, so I unchecked it and changed another thing, and it seems to be working now.
