Veeam is excited to announce the availability of Veeam Data Cloud Vault Archive (Vault Archive). This provides customers with a lower-cost archive tier for aged backups, large unstructured data sets, and redundant, obsolete or trivial (ROT) data.

  • Vault Archive utilizes Azure Blob Archive tier
  • Supported as a primary backup target for unstructured data (NAS) backups or as an Archive Tier of a scale-out backup repository
  • Automatically moves or copies GFS restore points from Vault Standard to Vault Archive
  • Does not require an archiver appliance
  • No extra compute to deploy, manage or pay for
  • Secure by default: immutability, AES 256-bit encryption and logical air-gapping

Veeam Vault Archive extends the fully managed Vault experience to archive storage, built for secure, compliant and long-term backup retention. This new offering helps organizations move older, rarely used backup data off expensive storage and to a more-cost effective solution.

Nice to see this.  Will there be a V100 NFR deal with this so we can test it? 😋🤣
