Veeam Data Cloud now supports backup of Salesforce data and metadata. This takes all the power and features provided in Veeam Backup for Salesforce and offers it through a cloud-native experience. Users can manage backups from a web-based console while being able to create real-time notifications for backup, recovery, Salesforce connection issues and changes in protected data. This simplifies backup operations ensuring consistency across your data protection strategy.

Key capabilities include:

  • Back up of Salesforce files, data and metadata
  • Encryption of data on the client side with original (built-in) or AWS KMS keys
  • Customizable backup schedules for different Salesforce objects to meet desired RPOs allowing the creation of high frequency backups of specified objects
  • Restore options include:
    • Files, data and metadata including object hierarchies and custom fields
    • Files, fields, records and objects of entire Salesforce tenants
    • Data and metadata (including Reports, Profiles, Permission sets, Flows, and so on)
    • Object hierarchy to an unlimited level of depth
    • Child and parent relationships
  • The ability to archive data that is no longer needed but needs to be retained for future reference or regulatory compliance reasons
  • Configuration of granular retention settings at the object level
  • Compare versions of production Salesforce records with versions of backed-up records stored in repositories
  • Compare versions of production data with versions of backed up metadata stored in repositories to see line-by-line differences

In addition, you are greeted with an intuitive dashboard that provides a quick overview of your salesforce backup health, displaying status for data, file and metadata backup. It also shows recent data changes and object modification trends.

As organizations cloud strategy evolves, this integration marks another milestone in Veeam’s commitment to delivering data resilience across workloads including SaaS platforms.
