Introducing Veeam Backup for Salesforce 3.1: Enhanced data protection with new features like data masking, improved restores, and detailed usage insights—now available!

 

Key Enhancements

 

Added Features:

  • Data Masking: Templates and patterns for sandbox seeding, regional settings, and PII field suggestions.
Data Masking
  • Metadata Management: Metadata reload action for full metadata backup.
  • Reload Support: Includes ContentDocumentLink as part of file reloads.
  • CSV Export: Ability to export records during custom child hierarchy restore.
  • Hierarchical Restore: Support for restoring Person Accounts and cyclic relationships.
  • Usage Insights: Display of Salesforce data and file storage consumption.

 

Fixes:

  • Task/Event Restore: Addressed issues in organizations with "Shared Activities" enabled.
  • Retention Policies: Now support custom objects across multiple added organizations.
  • Restore Optimization: Resolved duplicate ContentDocument issues during Quote Document restores.
  • Automation Handling: Improved processing of formula byte size limits during automation disable.
  • Time Zone Support: Added New Zealand timezone for scheduling; retention scheduler now aligns with server time zone.

System Requirements Highlights:

  • Salesforce API: Supports v60.0 (default).
  • OS Compatibility: RedHat, Oracle, AlmaLinux, Rocky Linux, Ubuntu (64-bit versions).
  • Database: PostgreSQL 13.x–15.x recommended, 16 GB+ RAM required.
  • License: Free Community Edition (up to 50 users) or subscription-based licenses.

Upgrade Notes:
Supports in-place upgrades from v3.0+. PostgreSQL 12 and CentOS users must migrate manually. First backup after upgrade will trigger database migrations, temporarily pausing jobs.
