Veeam Backup for Microsoft Azure v8 has been released, and with it brings a focus on security, automation and workload protection. A notable feature of this release is it support for a new workload, Azure Cosmos DB for Mongo DB, allowing organizations to safeguard their data against loss, corruption or accidental deletion.
It is important to note, starting from Veeam Backup for Microsoft version 6.0, Veeam Backup for Microsoft Azure is part of the Veeam Backup & Replication solution, with some features available only for backup appliances managed by Veeam Backup & Replication.
Key features include:
- SLA- based backup policies for VMs, automating backup operations with two template types: SLA and Storage
- Granular access control by supporting a new read-only role in its Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) capabilities
- Protection for Azure Cosmos DB for MongoDB workloads
- Updated UI designed for a cleaner, modern design that enhances accessibility
