for highlighting my post. I love to get topics from the costumers and to dive in and look at it from a lot of angles. The initial question for this article was, can I use MFA on multiple devices and how does it work and is there a way to use it without a mobile phone and is it really necesarry with veeam.
It made fun to find the relevant information and put it together... and the QR Code Information was used by me for a private geek table quiz two weeks ago ;-)....
Thank you so much for the mention in the Weekly Recap! 😄
Just to add some context: Instant Recovery was my first option, but due to some environment limitations, probably related to permissions, firewall, or AV restrictions, I could not complete it during the available maintenance window.
And yes, it was definitely not fun at all at the beginning. The backup and the VMDK export were fine, but when the VM did not boot, it took some time to understand if the problem was related to disk order, controller type, bootloader, or something else.
The key point was checking the original physical server and confirming that it was using BIOS/Legacy.
So the fix was simple, but getting to the root cause during a recovery window was the stressful part.
