The Kube Vanguard Post Pandemic Wardrobe Syndrome and Talos!

Tough week folks. I found out that I had to go to a formal event and was forced to venture into far off areas in my closet to search for formal clothes only to find that most don’t fit anymore! On the bright side there is plenty of progress to be made going forward 😀.

Talos is a mini immutable Linux Version for Kubernetes!

Looking sharp there Geoff. Always hard when you find the good clothes that don't fit but something to work towards.

Good stuff Geoff,

Some good reading on the whys for using something like this vs the more traditional general Linux distributions. Size, Speed & Security are 3 areas I would simplify this into.

A Guide to Immutable Kubernetes Operating Systems - Sidero Labs

The session I did for #90DaysOfDevOps was here -

I am working with Talos on my home lab as well which I have documented here - Kubernetes in the HomeLab 2024 Update - vZilla

My first endeavour into Immutable OS’s for Kubernetes was with AWS Bottlerocket - Kubernetes, How to – AWS Bottlerocket + Amazon EKS - DEV Community

Also a demo from a few years back where K10 supports AWS Bottlerocket -

Final thing to note, K10 works great on these talos clusters as well!

Some great additional information there Michael.  Definitely love this stuff to get myself up to speed on Kubernetes and Kasten.
