You need to backup a customer’s on premises Kubernetes cluster. The customer is not using a csi driver for storage. Can Kasten still back this up? If so how?

Yes as Kasten supports direct Ceph support and also public cloud storage vendors.

Interesting question and scenario, some weeks ago I installed a lab with K8S cluster with NFS as a backend storage (in a local environment), then I installed install K10 and after that I realized  a CSI Hostpath driver it was installed too (Actually NFS doesn’t support snapshot capabilities and hostpath it does {but this one is not an implementation for production environments}).

I think K10 solves this issue installing hostpath CSI driver, but it would be good if exists another option (sooner I expect) or we wait to CSI NFS evolves and finally support snapshot features.

Best regards and have a nice workweek.
