I was wrong!

Hi Folks,

During my Kubehuddle presentation I made a mistake. I claimed that you could not assign a blueprint via the WebUI! Ah what shame cometh upon me! All is not lost as I will use my impostor excuse :).

I was watching an excellent video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IaX7rWQa7ys on the Kasten youtube channel that I managed to miss about App Fingerprinting and boom… the person (not introduced and talking behind the scene so maybe one of those AI chatter boxes?) they showed that you can add blueprints. So here is is on my Rancher:

Go to applications:

Applications

Pick details:

Details

Then click on the three dots and click add blueprint:

So there you go. You can add through the GUI. Just goes to show you never know everything and need to keep watching and reading all the time!

We all make mistakes and learn from them which you did.  Nice follow up.

Thanks for following up! Not everybody would do this, and it’s great to see!

Thanks @Cassandra Faris

In fact I remember it was a Veeam SE who asked me too at Kubehuddle 😃.

I find that when I discover something that I was incorrect about, I tend to remember it much better for some reason going forward!

My big lesson from this is to follow Kasten’s youtube channel. It has improved a lot and the short to the point videos are a great addition to the documentation.

That’s great! I’m the same way. Making mistakes is the way we learn!

I’m glad to hear the YouTube videos are useful too. You know I’m here to help the community get the resources y’all need.
