Hi Everyone,

 

I am sitting at home sick but could not resist the urged to announce this. A new version of Calico is out.

As you may or not know Pod Security Policies are being removed as of Kubernetes v1.25 but Calico has an automatic transition pod security standards.

 

There are also some interesting operator enhancements.

Why does every release of Kubernetes seem to deprecate a massive thing!

 

Thanks for the announcement, shan’t spend any time learning Pod Security Policies then!

To be fair this was announced quite a while ago and Pod Security Policies had issues. Plus remember I don’t think many people will jump right away to 1.25 (Kasten does not support it yet). So plenty of time to prepare and convert/migrate.

I had to learn more about OPA for the CKS exam but would probably go to kyverno since that uses I believe just normal yaml manifests where as OPA has the rego language.
