Did you know Google Cloud is the first to introduce their own Kubernetes Native backup tool among the top 3 Public Cloud? I just recorded a video on how to use Backup for GKE from Google Cloud.
For sure, it is not as good as Kasten or other 3rd party tool. But it does cover most of the basic needs like backup/restore containers and migrate containers.

I agree with you. But seriously, if my needs are pretty basic, do I really need any 3rd party tool? At the end of day, Google is enhancing their feature and capabilities anyway. I’d predict every cloud will follow and introduce their own Kubernetes backup tools.
