Just waiting on licenses first before I do any testing. Will try v12 first.
GA or IA? I thought it was only in IA status.

Yes it is IA right now.

Yes. It is IA. Sorry, my mistake.
Looks like Veeam aren’t going to shift the goalposts, no vSphere 8 support is expected until it leaves IA and becomes GA, and then the 90 day support window kicks in (I’m not suggesting it will be 90 days exactly, but until extensive testing of IA and subsequent GA is complete, Veeam may need this time).

Whaaaat??? This version is available for 12 hours and Veeam does still not support it???? OMG!!!!
Lab only. Why why why do people do this.
Someone probably installed it in production, have an issue with Veeam, and they are upset it’s not supported. (Seen this many times) ALWAYS read the compatibility notes from ALL vendors. Hardware AND software. A more sane approach is to not upgrade something in production the day/week or month it’s released if it’s working and zero risk.
It’s now been announced that vsphere 8 is supported with v11a P20220302 in a limited capability!
The notes aren’t long so it’s worth a quick read, in general it’s a lack of support for new vSphere 8 support but a key highlight is CDP is not supported!

Nice to see they support it in some fashion. I know v12 Beta3 supports it other than the warning you get about the VDDK version (only once). I am sure GA v12 will support it.
I’m still waiting quite a while for production. Nice to hear though.
Perhaps if I get some time I’ll install in the lab to get a handle on it now.
