Hola comunidad!

tengo problemas desde que actualicé a RHEL 9.7, recibo el mensaje de error;

Failed to create volume snapshot
Failed to take volume snapshot
Failed to perform managed backup
Failed to load module [veeamblksnap].

Saludos cordiales.

I would follow Support’s suggestion. You can check kernel module updates, etc. for RHEL and others here - KB2804: Veeam Agent for Linux - veeamsnap and blksnap Extended Linux Distribution Support

Hi @Infraestructura ECERT -

When posting a question or comment, please post in English. You can post questions in your native language in the various VUG Groups if you’d like though. Just FYI.

As far as the error you’re getting...I’ve seen the ‘Failed to create volume snapshot’ and ‘Failed to load module [veeamblksnap]’ often when the veeamsnap or blksnap is not installed, or is not updated. There was a post about this a few yrs ago by Michael Paul...see if it helps you:

Best.

@coolsport00 thank you! i have a headers installed for my kernel: Package kernel-headers-5.14.0-611.11.1.el9_7.x86_64 is already installed. This article is not for me :(

Thank you, bus this is the problema, Veeam Support says me:

Hello Team, Using 6.3.2.1207 VAL with RHEL 9.7 (because of redhat updates) requires special attention:

Please see our KB here: https://www.veeam.com/kb2804
The link to download the patch is under your support portal, once you navigate to product downloads, click "Go to updates" on the right, and you should find the package version there. You can also follow the link from the KB above.

Once installed the issue in accordance to the instructions in the KB, your issue should be resolved.

Please let us know how this goes!

BUT, when i download the file, teh system downloaded one unique file, but not a “manifest file”, additionally the instruccions:

This kernel is supported using a patch available from:
My Account portal > Product updates
This kernel module patch for VAL 6.3.2.1207 adds support for kernels between 5.14.0-611.8.1.el9_7 and the kernel listed in this row.

Kernel module patch install instructions.

Uses the blksnap kernel module.

That link is: Deployment Procedure for Linux Computers - Veeam Backup & Replication Veeam Agent Management Guide but i dont have the total files.
