Hi All,

If we keep our Veeam VBR on V12.3.2.4165 and we upgrade the Veeam backup for AWS appliance from V9 to V10 what has integration with this VBR. Will that break the integration. Is there only integration with VBR V13?
I did request this question in a case and got the following answer back

Regarding Veeam Backup for AWS, upgrading from version 9.1.0.45 to version 10 will not impact integration with VBR 12.3.2.4165. There are no documented version dependencies or incompatibilities between these specific versions.

However on a Reddit forum I found a topic where customers told that the upgrade did break the connection with there VBR on V12.3.2.4165
Veeam Backup for AWS 10 : r/Veeam

Or is there a newer version of the plugin that repairs this connection if it gets broken.

Counting on your experience
Thanks,
Benny

Hi @De Cock -

I can’t comment to your question specifically, but Veeam Support...not Reddit...is your official source for truth. I’m not saying the Reddit posters didn’t experience some issue, but Support is where you should put more of your faith in. Someone else may be able to chime in and provide more details regarding your direct question.

Also, you can try searching around in the Veeam Forums to see if there are any posts about compatibility challenges as well.

Best.

I work supporting specfically the public cloud products in Veeam and can confirm the VBAWS v10 is only available for VBR v13.

Also, always follow this page because it contains the more updated and reliable information about the compatibility between VBR and VBAWS

Thanks for the responses
this table makes it clear.
https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/vbaws/guide/system_requirements.html?ver=10#versions.
However I do find it a pity.
For me Veeam Backup for AWS and VBR are still 2 different products.
Writing an updated plugin for VBR V12.3.2.4165 should make it possible to make the integration with Veeam Backup for AWS V10 or am I missing something?

This I can't help because it's s decision from Product Management. The best thing is asking if they will create a updated plugin on Veeam R&D Forum because it has Product Management visibility: https://forums.veeam.com/amazon-web-services-f55/
