Hi,

Let me explain the configuration and questions.

Please see below.

Questions:

  1. What does IP use when configuring a gateway?
  2. For the backup copy job, we have to add the target repo from Storeonce B as COE because of the replicate over IP. How do we force replication between StoreOnce A and B on replicate IP ?

DC site :

  • Veeam backup server (KVM)
    • Mgmt IP
  • Proxy & GW server A (Windows server 2022)
    • Mgmt IP
    • backup IP
    • Fiber Channel
  • StoreOnce A
    • Mgmt IP
    • backup IP
    • Replicate IP
    • Fiber Channel

DR site :

  • Proxy & GW server B (Windows server 2022)
    • Mgmt IP
    • backup IP
    • Fiber Channel
  • StoreOnce B
    • Mgmt IP
    • backup IP
    • Replicate IP
    • Fiber Channel

Hi @nattakit -

Welcome to the Community. Did you have a read of the info in the User Guide on Backup Copy?

How Backup Copy Works
Backup Copy Architecture

I would start there. Both links provide a nice little diagram of how data travels for BCJs.

Let us know if you still have questions.

Best.

Hi,

We add a StoreOnce repository via the backup IP to the proxy server. After that, we create a backup copy job from the DC to the DR (DC ---> DR) and start it. The StoreOnce at the DC try to send data via the backup IP instead of the replicate IP.

Additional: Only storeonce has a replicate IP and not route to others.

Have you ever faced this issue before?
