Does VAMWF support scheduled backup jobs?  I was able to create one with the GUI, but it didn’t run, probably because there was no entry in Task Scheduler.

Best answer by selevin

It turns out that I had the scheduled backup configured correctly.  The problem was that the PC I’m trying to back up is an all-in-one that only supports the S0 sleep state.  So, Veeam created a waketimer to do the backup, but the PC didn’t wake up.  The only way I know around this is to have the PC never sleep.  My clue was that I installed Veeam on a desktop PC that supports the S3 sleep state and the scheduled backup worked.  Thanks to everyone for the prompt and helpful responses.

It didn’t run for me.  Is there a way I can find out what I might have done wrong?

Can you share a screenshot of your configured job schedule? And are you able to run the job manually?

Hi @selevin

VAMWF does support scheduled backup jobs, but it relies on Windows Task Scheduler to trigger them.

If no task was created, the job likely wasn’t saved correctly or permissions were insufficient.

Try recreating the job and confirm the task appears in Task Scheduler. Running the setup as administrator may help.

Hi @selevin -

Did you go through the VAW User Guide, Job Scheduling section to verify you have everything configured correctly?
https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/agentforwindows/userguide/backup_job_schedule_free_desktop.html?ver=60

Pay special attention to the section of time when to run the Job.

Let us know if you need further assistance.

Best.

Hi @selevin

VAMWF does support scheduled backup jobs, but it relies on Windows Task Scheduler to trigger them.

That’s not correct unfortunately. Veeam Agent does use it’s own scheduler and isn’t depended on the Task Scheduler.

That's what I thought thanks for confirming Regnor.
