Hi folks, recently some KBs were pulled out.

This is last one, and very helpful to anyone is having fun with Windows 11.

There’s already a topic about this (thanks @Chris.Childerhose):

But I wanna share some more info about it, and maybe talks about Windows 11 and if it’s ready to production. I say no.

Apparently there’s a problem with MS SQL LocalDB instance that can’t start automatically if system disk sector size greater than 4 KB.
There’s even a Docs by Microsoft for this:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/troubleshoot/sql/admin/troubleshoot-os-4kb-disk-sector-size

and this is a talk about 4k sector size:

https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/sql-server-support-blog/sql-server-new-drives-use-4k-sector-size/ba-p/316277

CURRENTLY MICROSOFT IS STILL INVESTIGATING.

My humble advice is to at least wait a quarter before using new OS in production to get a minimum of stability in environment.

Microsoft share these tips as best practices for upgrading planning solution:

In case you missed some, here’s the recap list with latest updates released (chronological order):

Great details there. I have had Win11 working since release and no issues with Veeam at all on it. Maybe I got lucky. 😂

You lucky!

I had to go back to Win10, got too many problem with incompatible apps and not-so-stable driver (on a current gen wks).
