Hi everyone, how are you?

I have a customer who has multiple M375 tenants.

For example:

  • Main tenant - 200 users
  • Tenant Egge Unit 1 - 50 users
  • Tenant Edge Unit 2 - 50 users

We understand the limitations

- It's not possible to restore between tenants

- It's not possible to distribute licenses between tenants

However, we can manage tenants from the same console, as mentioned by @MicoolPaul  in the post below.

The customer's big question is:

If I delete a tenant (this is common in edge units), will I lose all the licenses associated with that tenant?

I'm thinking about the possibility:

Or can we open a case with Veeam to "unlink" these licenses from the tenant so I can use them in another tenant?

Thanks in advance!

I would assume if the license is asscoiated with the main VDC and you create a tenant, once you delete the tenant the licenses go back in to the pool to be reassigned to another one.  I will let those work with VDC more answer this.

Hi,

The answer today is “it depends”.

Currently in our “legacy” VDC M365, each tenant is a separate organisation so licenses are cut and carved between them manually but support can help with reallocating licenses. In the new VDC M365 (launched last week for new customers with existing customers moving over in the short-term) you can have multiple tenants in a VDC organisation whereby licenses can be dynamically used between tenants without changing your license.

Hope this helps!

Hi @Jean.peres.bkp

You have two options:

Open a Veeam support case:

  • Explain that your tenant association has changed and request assistance to “unlink” the license from the old tenant and reassign it to the new one.

Verify entitlement on your account portal:

  • Check products.veeam.com or your Veeam Cloud Connect portal some license types (like Fixed/Subscription) may allow tenant reassignment via support without extra cost.

Thank you very much master, I appreciate it!!
