Dear Community,

I'm currently exploring options to optimize Veeam Agent for Windows (VAW) backup jobs, specifically for truncating db logs. Unfortunately, I’ve noticed that there isn’t an available option to configure a log shipping server to truncate the logs as per the requirements.

 

This functionality would be incredibly helpful for truncating logs continuously and thereby reducing the workload on the Veeam Backup & Replication (VBR) server.

 

Is there any way to achieve this within the current VAW capabilities, or are there plans to include this feature in future updates? Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

 

The following Option is only available in the VMWARE Base Job

 

This option is not available for VAW Base Backup Job.

when using VAW for processing your SQL server, log shipping should be handled by your VAW itself, not on your VBR. Therefore your shipping server is your VAW itself:

Thank you for reaching out i saw that article and this is clear for me thank you.

I want to avoid my VBR being busy and looking forward to the option for a log shipping server as well.

The best place to make a feature request is directly to the Product Managers over on the Forums. They can share if this is a feature in the works for an upcoming release or if not, they can put it on their radar.
