One of my VBR use rental license and i’m not understand about the calulcation.

Total I have 25 endpoint backup by VBR, 1 is windows agent, 21 is hyper-v, 3 is vmware where i split into 2 job.

The qty of my rent license is 275.

In the license information we can see I have 22 VMs and total used point is 242 (22 * 11).

In the license report the qty used is 242

and in the bottom of report sya this report is not include 2 new VM.

 My question is :

  • Totally i have 25 endpoint, but wht the license only counted for 22 endpoints?
  • What is +33 in the license information? And why in the license instance only showing 23 endpoints? Why the windows agent showing 0 likely this not consume the license?
  • in the license report why not included 2 new VM? Is there any delay?

That’s correct, When you back up a machine for the first time in a calendar month, Veeam marks it as a new workload. During that same month, those new workloads are shown in the new counter and they do not consume license points yet.

On the first day of the next month, Veeam converts those new workloads into used points and starts counting them as real consumption. Then the new counter resets for the new month. New Workloads license reporting process explained here

@hs08 VBR is showing total usage of 275 points for Backup, split into 242 used for existing workloads and 33 new for workloads first consumed within the current calendar month. So total consumption is 275 points this month.

275 points corresponds to 25 workloads at 11 points each because 275 / 11 = 25.

Microsoft Windows Agent = 11 Points

Virtual Machine = 11 points

It starts counting the points in the next month, in the month you deploy its “new points” and for free
