Hi Team,

I have two servers with 100TB each with windows server operating system using as a file servers. one is acting as a primary servers and second is acting as a secondary server by using native replication. Now I wanted to add a third server with 200TB acting as a backup server.

Can this can be achieved with the 1 pack of VUL of VDP??

Many Thanks

Hi @Siddhartha ,

it depends on what you are trying to archieve here. If you want to backup the Server as such, one VUL per Server would be sufficient. But i´m actually not shure if there will be an issue according to the disc sizes. The Limit here is 64 TB.

If you want to threat it as a NAS Backup and backup directly from the fileshare you will need 1 VUL for 500GB of Data. Another possibillity would be the use of Capacity packs to adress the amount of Data.

Hope that helps a bit.

@Siddhartha  1 Agent = 1 VUL, and VUL licenses are typically sold in packs of 5. So, a single VDP (5 pack) should be more than enough for backing up 3 servers

Chalid is right about the disk size limitations and if you hit the limit you might need to spilt them into multiple disks.

Thanks team,

So  I have to limit the disk size to 64TB (Can create a multiple disks) and can proceed with 1 pack of VUL of VDP for backing of two servers to the third severs.

Many thanks,
Siddhartha.
