Hi,

I am trying to deploy Veeam Backup for Nutanix AHV, followed all the instructions of the documentation. Although I have selected a NAS while configuring for the backup, in the console of Proxy, it shows repositories as 0 and Backup server status as Unavailable. Also, in the manage backup server Import Backups] is greyed out. Only PD snapshots are being created as seen in VBR.

Please help.

Thanks.

Please check your DNS resolution see link below and verify you have downloaded the latest AHV Plug-in😀.

@Pybarra I have used the latest version of AHV plug-in and followed all those troubleshooting. Still the repo and backup server are unavailable in the console of the proxy.

You should also check to make sure there are no required ports being blocked and you are on the right vlan. You can also test if you can do updates😀.

@Pybarra Checked the ports, nothing is blocked and it’s in the right Vlan as well. Everything is up to date. The issue is still the same.

This appears pretty strange. Are you running a DNS server with a host record or are you just doing host files on Windows and AHV Proxy VM? can you view the /etc/resolv.conf file on proxy VM? cat /etc/resolv.conf to verify you have the right DNS servers.

@Pybarra I have done host files according to the links you have given in previous comments. resolv.conf has the right DNS servers. Going through more troubleshooting, I have encountered error when trying to update the Nutanix proxy from VBR even though I have not updated anything. It says { Failed to update InfrastructureProxy. Certificate with hThumbprint:id] was not locally found }.

Is this a test environment? If not I would open up a support ticket. If it is a test environment you should try and remove it and reinstall it and keep an eye on the error messages😀.

@Pybarra it’s not a test environment. we have got a new cluster so want to get the Veeam deployed for it. If someone could help me with the support ticket, then please do it. Looking forward to it. Thanks.

Here you go. It is our Veeam KB to assist in opening support tickets😀https://www.veeam.com/kb1771
