Hi guys,

I have a file backup containing several NetApp shares, and at every backup the following error appears in the statistics:

Error: Canot Find some NAS backup metadata sections

It is resolving that at “Retry 1” but it does this every single backup, and I want to know the root cause of it - even if it gets resolved eventually.

(someone told me it might be that backup job contains a lot of NetApp shares, so it can’t “deal” with all of them then it drops few of them and then retires to back them up individually and with success… but i don’t know...)

Please let me know if any of you have had the same issue and/or how did it get resolved

Thanks!! 😁

Hi @hodnet Try splitting the job into smaller groups of shares and see if the warning disappears. Also, make sure you are using the latest Veeam version. Hope this helps!

try to rename vbm files and press rescan of repository - it should re-create vbm files

You can also check bottlenecks on network layer between both the NetApp shares and the VBR and the VBR to the Repo (in case that you don’t run a simple deployment).

I also recommend opening a Veeam support to let them surf through logs (which you can feel free to share here as well).

Also check your setup and cache server to ensure the right resources and disk space for the CRC - https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backup/vsphere/unstructured_data_backup_hiw.html

I agree with Lukas here..if other suggestions don’t work...to open a Veeam Support ticket. They are really the ‘experts’ to go to. I’d be curious as to the resolution here as well.

Best.
