VMware has announced that vSphere Hypervisor (free edition) will no longer be available on February 14, 2024. Any comments on this?😉

Refer to this KB for details, End Of General Availability of the Free vSphere Hypervisor (ESXi 7.x and 8.x) (2107518)

Yeah, saw this in another post here and it is a shame they are killing it off.  Was great for learning and testing VMware especially in a HomeLab setting.

I think it’s going to make it harder to get newer guys to play with VMware products.  I think they’re going to go forward with the likes of ProxMox and XCP-NG and even the likes of FreeNAS and such.  But I have to agree with Gostev, in that if they goal is to cut out small business and go enterprise-only, this is a great step towards that.
