As far as I know is Domino not a supported application by Veeam.

I m afraid you will have to stop your domino server, take the backup of the whole server or the .NSF files and start the domino server afterwards.

I don't think, that Domino works with VSS. But I don't know the last versions...

HCL has some information documented about protecting Domino with VBR:

Oh, ok, the new owner of Domino provides some scripts for snapshot generation.

Good to know, sometimes there is a customer with Domino even nowadays...

@victorwu

On which operating system is Domino 9 running? Physical/virtual?

Domino V9 is rather old and there are some support exceptions listed for V9 and V10….

Is an update to V12 an option?

Yea, but Veeam works great for Domino in general: https://support.hcltechsw.com/community?id=community_question&sys_id=82f9b2071b821050086dcbfc0a4bcb36

I have requested the Veeam HK team to verify with the product team that this solution does not have any compatibility issues.

Veeam VBR 11 (11.0.1.1261)
OS: Microsoft Windows 2012
Domino: 9.0.1FP10 HF197

@victorwu

In don‘t think, our QA has tested this scenario if it‘s compatible to Veeam.

You can backup the windows server 2022 with the agent or as a vm. This is totally supported from our side.

The issue is the Lotus Domino installation. If there is no VSS integration, then you have to make sure by yourself, that the application and it‘s databases are in a state where we can take a backup in a way, that you can restore the vm and the application can be restarted again.

I confirmed with Veeam HK team, VBR supports the protection of Domino from version 8.5.3 FP6 to 12.0.2.
