Question

Does the Veeam v13 Community Edition not have the File Exclusions in backup jobs?

It seems the FILE EXCLUSION tab is missing in Veeam Community edition even though the only thing it is supposed to be limited don is the number of workloads. When I go to the job, guest processing and edit, there is no choice to exclude files. What am I missing here?

I believe they removed that in the CE edition for v13.  I think you need paid edition now but I would check with sales to be sure.

Hi @vvmicro -

Chris is correct. See the User Guide:

https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/vbr/userguide/backup_job_vss_exclude.html?ver=13

Specifically, see the note/bullet in the link above:

File Exclusion Requirement

Make sure to see the limitations associated with File Exclusions as well:

https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/vbr/userguide/guest_file_exclusion.html?ver=13#reqs

Hope that helps.

Best.

Even though the only thing it is supposed to be limited don is the number of workloads.

From our „free licenses“, the NFR licence has no limitations while the community edition does. You can find the full list for each edition (community edition and paid) in our comparison guide:

Yes this helps, but they need to update the info the Community Edition then, it still states it is a fully functioning copy and only limited in the number of workloads it can handle. Maybe I will revert back to v12 for the time being. Thank you!

You can provide feedback just go to the link that mentions this and use the feedback which goes directly to the document team.  I have done this many times.

No problem @vvmicro .

Yeah..you can suggest changes to the documentation as Chris shared. I’ve done this as well. And, they’re pretty good about providing a response as well.

Best.

Maybe I am going blind, where is the feedback located?
