I am new with veeam and i build up a software appliance V13 on proxmox VE 9.1.4
The appliance is running well and i can also use the veeam console from another PC to connect.
The console i installed from the community iso last version.
But now i have the problem with License of community version.
Where can i find the license File for the community version of veeam?
Downöoad or use of online licensing?
Must i send a mail to become from veeam  the license file for community version.
Without the license file for community version i can not test and learn more about veeam.
Do you have a link for me to solve the problem?
I hope you have a answer for a new beginner on veeam.

Hi,

The community edition doesn’t have a license file. A lack of license is the community edition. The software appliance isn’t supported with community edition at this time so if you want to use Veeam without purchasing a license you must use the Windows-based software solution currently.

Thanks. But this is not good.
I think the use of proxmox and veeam software appliance is a very good solution to have training on veeam backup.
I hope veeam can also make a community license file to use for Proxmox and LInux software appliance.
I don`t want build up a windows vm to use the community version. To much overload and costs.

Is there a person at veeam company who can change this problen and can do a community license file version also for linux?

I hope veeam change this problem for all proxmox and linux guys.

Unfortunately for now there are no plans to offer the Community Edition for the Veeam Software Appliance.

You can raise of course your voice on the forums:

You mentioned “training on Veeam Backup”.

In case you are looking for trainings you can either reach out to your Veeam Partner for specific trainings, reach out to your Veeam sales representitive for trainings or your sales representitive could help you get a demo license key for a specific training case.

There are solutions for trainings, but the Community Edition doesn’t have all required features (even with the Windows deployment) so that a training on that would be really meaningful.

If you want to get some hands‑on experience with Veeam products, the Veeam Hands‑On Labs are a great resource.
They provide a completely web‑based environment that lets you test‑drive Veeam technologies using a simple web browser on any device.

You can try everything from Veeam Recovery Orchestrator to Kasten on OpenShift, and the labs are completely free.
