Hello everyone.

A costumer of ours have a problem after the 27/12. Until this day all the backup is working fine with the incremental on the most of them take 10-20 min, sudenly on the 27/12 all the backups take to long to complete. Like 1+ hour when 1 week before the same backup is taking 10 min. On the most of them i see a 99% bottleneck on the source but when i go to investigate the source machine everythink is showing fine. ANd this situation with the bottleneck is not showing on all the backups, on some the data is look fine ( like what is looking before 27/12 ) like 40 source, 15 proxy 20 network etc but and on this jobs the timers is extremely long. Any suggestion?

PS: That start a day, there no change on the infastructure or anythink that can start a befavior like this

What version of Veeam are you using?  Are you on 12.3?

Source does not mean the VM itself but the storage where the VM resides.  What type of backups are you doing hotadd?

The version is 12.2, we update like 1 month ago. The transport methof is set automatic and also the backup is incrementall with active full. I try to search on the logs on the folder %ProgramData%\Veeam\Backup\ to see what transport method the jobs before 27/12 is using and etc but the log files is so much that i cant found anythink. If u now the specific file i need to look i will appreciate it.

Update: On the last job i have found that the proxies use hotadd, i will look and on older logs

UpdateV2: On older backups the transport is hotadd and also the proxy is the same.

Thanks

Sounds good. This is just investigate and see.  Nothing to "fix" really.

I will start the investigation with the storage, as it is quite old, and I don't believe anyone has consistently checked it for errors or issues.

Thanks a lot Chris.

Not a problem hope you find the issue.  Let us know.

Can be caused by a failing RAID controller battery that disables the cache function on the controller.
