Experiencing this error after the successful created of the protection domain.

after the rescan. got this error.

Hi Jovert Lumbao,

Do you really mean Protection Domain (Nutanix) or Protection Groups (for Veeam Agents)?

Based on the error message I would rather say you mean Protection Groups and probably want to install a Veeam Agent on a system. Is that correct?

OK, it's a bit difficult to say what the problem might be. Here are a few questions or things I would check:

  • What kind of system do you want to install the agent on? Physical server (model?) or virtual machine
  • Which Windows version? All current Windows updates installed?
  • Is the agent already installed on the system? Or was it installed before?
  • Are there duplicate machine IDs (clones) in your environment?
  • Are there duplicate IP/names?
  • Does the IP reverse lookup find the correct DNS name? If you ping the DNS name, do I get the correct IP address? 
  • Is the date and time correct? On the VBR server and Windows client/server

One last thing, can you add another Windows server to the Protection Group and test whether you get the same error message?
