MacOS is secure against malware, isn’t it?
Seems that this not true, at least not anymore.

Lockbit ransomware group  has published the first version of a macOS malware. Researchers say it looks like a beta or test version. But it is the beginning.

So, please be aware and don’t feel save just because you are using an Apple device….

Use a proper endpoint security application and take secure backups. 😎

Good one @JMeixner! I have always secured my Mac with an Anti-Virus/Malware solution. macOS are actually not immune to viruses, and other malware. Attacks on Mac are increasing each day. See this article from AtlasVPN: https://atlasvpn.com/blog/macos-malware-development-surged-by-over-1-000-in-2020

For instance, the solution I use “Norton” combines security and antivirus features to help protect against ransomware, malware, spyware, and other online threats etc.

Seems that no OS lately is immune from infection including MacOS.  Thanks for sharing.

There was a time, with MacOS was “immune” or not targeted at least.  I think those days are long past as more and more users are on Mac’s.  Good to know...we have a few clients using Mac’s primarily so I’ll have to share with my team to make sure they’re aware.
