Another high profile ransomware attack here in Canada. This time the Toronto Zoo has been hit. I personally find it hard to believe that all of these organizations were slacking when it comes to security. Instead what it is telling us is that the “old ways” of doing things are now very vulnerable. The threat has evolved and hence Veeam is taking on Radical resilience in the form of Zero Trust Data Protection. These are not empty words or marketing mystery tales but a hard reality. Every compromise in an organization’s IT setup, no matter how minimal is increasing the risk. This might sound like a panic post but I am struck by the fact that our Public Library System, now our Zoo has been hit. In the case of the library we are now 3 Months with no IT there whatsoever, everything from ordering books to paying fines. Now the Zoo. What will be next?
