For those organizations who may have implemented multiple applications to address MS throttling, please note that as of March 1, 2026, Microsoft will enforce its terms of use for everyone who has configured multiple application registrations. At this point, it’s not clear if there will be a penalty or charge for having multiple applications configured.

Please refer here for the Veeam KB: KB4821: Support Statement — Microsoft 365 Changes to Throttling Enforcement

And here for the the MS terms of use: Terms of Use - Microsoft APIs | Microsoft Learn

Most importantly, you can find a script here provided by @Chris.Arceneaux to identify which organizations have multiple applications configured in Veeam: KB4821 - Script to Identify/Resolve Orgs with Multiple Backup Applications | Veeam Community Resource Hub

(With the -Fix flag, Applications are removed)

Thanks,

Hin
