Veeam Backup for Amazon Web Services (Veeam Backup for AWS or VBAWS) protects and facilitates disaster recovery for Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS), Amazon DynamoDB, and Amazon Elastic File System (EFS) environments.
Due to the nature of this guide, I can only share the link: https://techdirectarchive.com/2024/05/06/deep-dive-into-protecting-aws-ec2-rds-instances-and-vpc/
In this article, I discussed comprehensively how to deploy the VBAWS Appliance from the Veeam Backup and Replication Console, create a backup policy and back up EC2, RDS, and VPC. Also, I demonstrated the restoration process of EC2 and showed the steps to perform RDS restoration as well.
If you would like to follow the steps discussed here, you should create an AWS account and learn the steps to create a “VPC, Subnet, NACL, Security Group: Create your own Network on AWS from Scratch“.
Also, see how to create an EC2 instance, because we will be protecting it with VBAWS, create an S3 Bucket, as well as an RDS instance on AWS.
Note: You do not need to create an S3 Bucket beforehand as this can be created directly from the VBR console as I have demonstrated in the guide.
