Some experiences stay with you long after you return home. That is how I feel about the Veeam 100 Summit 2026 in Lisbon. Last year, Prague was my first international trip and my first time on an airplane. Returning a year later, after my renewal as a Veeam Legend, brought back the same excitement

From Belo Horizonte to Lisbon
My journey started with a direct TAP flight from Belo Horizonte, arriving in Lisbon around 7 AM on Sunday, October 25. I met
By the time I checked how far I had gone, I had walked more than 25 kilometers! I had discovered monuments, tried local food, and enjoyed getting to know the city. Considering I had knee surgery last year, my knee was probably ready to hand in its resignation. I was tired, but happy I had made the most of that first day.

On Monday,
The session that stood out to me

The presentation covered the Salesforce protection landscape - by
The current capabilities highlighted in the slides included protecting data, files, and metadata, comparing backups with production, and restoring records and related hierarchies. The point that stayed with me was the customer's responsibility for recovering business data, alongside Salesforce's responsibilities for the platform.

This matters to my daily work because customers depend on their information being usable. An integration might change thousands of records while Salesforce remains available.
I also enjoyed

Another session I really enjoyed was the one about VSA. What caught my attention was how the presenter (i dont remember his name =/) used Lisbon's architecture and landmarks to make comparisons with the technical concepts being discussed. I found it a really creative and interesting approach, especially because we were right there in Lisbon! It made the session even more engaging and memorable for me.

How I would use this learning
I have not yet implemented Veeam Backup for Salesforce in a customer environment. Drawing on my experience with other recovery operations, I would start by understanding the customer's critical data and recovery needs.
The integration error above is a scenario I would explore in a future project. I would work with the customer to identify affected records, assess the available backup versions, and plan a controlled recovery test. That is my own proposed application of the topic. I would want the business owner to confirm that the recovered information supports the process they need.
A moment of recognition
Another special moment was seeing my name among the four winners of the Why Now Community Challenge for Veeam Data Platform 13.1. Having my blog recognized by the community meant a lot to me and encouraged me to keep sharing what I learn.

By the way, im missing winners photo!! 😂
The people who made Lisbon special
One of the best parts was having more time with people I had spoken to only briefly last year. I also reconnected with friends from Prague and met people I had known only online. Those conversations made the community feel closer.

The farewell party brought plenty of laughter and moments I wish I could experience again with
When I started working with Veeam in 2020, I was trying to learn and become better at my job. This community encouraged me to share my experiences and opened doors I never imagined. Thank you to the organizers, speakers, and friends who made Lisbon another memorable part of that journey. I hope we meet again soon!

Big thanks for all community team, it was amazing!!
