I know many of you have been waiting for this, and I am really happy to finally share with the Veeam Community that VMCE+ is officially live Woo-hoo!!! 🎉 🎉 🎉VMCE+ is the first certification aligned to v13 and a real step up from VMCE. It goes beyond backup and recovery fundamentals to validate advanced skills across the full Veeam Data Platform. If you have been working with Veeam at an advanced level, this one is built for you.
What you need to get certified
To earn VMCE+, you complete three trainings:
- Veeam Backup & Replication: Configure, Manage, and Recover (VBR)
- Veeam Data Platform: Monitor, Manage, Analyze (Veeam ONE)
- Veeam Data Platform: Scale, Automate, Secure (Veeam Orchestrator)
The courses are available through the Veeam University PRO eLearning subscription, with instructor-led options available only for the Backup & Replication course. There may be an option to have the Veeam ONE and Veeam Orchestrator training instructor-led as well, but there is still no fixed date on the go-to-market.
After each training you complete, you earn a badge.
Complete all three and pass the exam, and you earn the VMCE+ certification badge:
For existing VMCE holders, there is no automatic upgrade, you will need to complete the three new v13-aligned trainings to become eligible for VMCE+. The good news: if you are VBR v12 or v13 trained, or VMCE v12 certified, you can skip the VBR training this time. However, I suggest you return to the training and have a look at the cool new features added in module 8 of the eLearning, where you will find topics such as Veeam Backup & Replication v13 updates, Veeam Software Appliance, Malware Threat Detection and AI, or how High Availability Cluster Capacity closes a long-standing gap in business continuity.
The eLearning subscription provides access to all required courses and updates, but exam vouchers are not included. If you are ready to take the exam, start from HERE to sit the exam via Pearson Professional Assessments (formerly Pearson VUE).
Realistically, the exam is not a walk in the park, it really raises the bar and sets a higher stamp of quality on those who receive the certification. You will have 150 minutes (2.5 hours) to complete 100 multiple choice questions, and if English is not your first language, you will receive an additional 30 minutes.
VMCE+ will demonstrate holders' ability to protect and recover data, proactively monitor and optimize infrastructure, execute reliable, tested recovery processes, and implement advanced strategies for operational resilience and business continuity in complex enterprise environments.
And there is more!
In the coming months, we also plan to launch a second certification. Once you complete the VMCE+ bundle, a new training will be unlocked on your eLearning subscription profile and you will have the opportunity to attend the Enterprise Data Security training. With VMCE+ completed (this is a hard requirement) and the Enterprise Data Security course completed, you will become eligible for the VMCSE exam when it is launched.
