Sometimes, it is necessary to go back to the basics. After all, we have many protocols and stacks that drive IT solutions. 

I was rereading my notes from an SNIA training and came across this post from Erik Smith. A good overview of what's under the hood of the various types of implementations and protocols for data storage. This post is a bit old but reflects the many storage classic protocols and integrations. 😀
