@coolsport00 Hello, good afternoon, do you know if there is already a release date for the version?
We are looking forward to it

There is no firm date just Q2 of 2025 tentatively right now.

No @simonreyes ...no release date from Veeam as yet.

Best.

I always feel confident in saying that Veeam will release it when it’s ready to be released.  They don’t tend to set arbitrary dates and then rush to meet them...they like to make sure it’s a good stable product before going GA.

This will be very important, here in Brazil some government agencies only use Linux, as soon as it is released the market share will certainly increase.

Hello Everyone

I would like to validate a proposed Veeam Backup & Replication v13 design and get confirmation on tape library integration.

  • Single physical server with Linux OS (2x480GB SSD)

  • VBR v13 installed on Linux

  • Local RAID-6 disks used as a Linux hardened (immutable) repository which will be used for daily and weekly backup

  • Monthly and yearly (GFS) backups stored on QNAP NAS (one at primary site, one at DR site)

  • Tape library planned to be connected to the same backup server

Questions:

  1. Is this design supported and recommended?

  2. Can a tape library be connected directly to a Linux-based VBR / hardened repository server?

  3. Or is a separate Windows tape server required?

Thanks in advance for your guidance.

You need a tape server as the v13 server cannot be a tape server as per the note on this page - https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/vbr/userguide/tape_servers.html?ver=13

thanks Chris
